What hitting Unsubscribed taught me
Why one little action made a huge difference
I have to admit, I love reading my emails. It is part of my morning routine to scroll through while I sip my coffee. I have a weakness for good opt-ins and my inbox is usually full with lots of delicious bits and bites.
However, I finally did it.
I went through my enormous list and did a huge purge. I love my emails but hated the time drain effect that it was having on me.
The online world has become a vast cyber marketplace. What was once dominated by bloggers and some retailers, now caters to every want or desire imaginable. With a click, everything can be delivered to your doorstep. Other than getting up to answer your doorbell, you have little reason to venture outdoors.
With the unprecedented time available for scrolling the internet, variety has become the buffet of life. Love to learn? Try online courses or YouTube. Want to find the deals? Sign up for newsletters from your favourite stores. Interested in a certain topic? Google for more info.
The list can go on and I was a human sponge trying to take it all in. Every email offered the solution to my problem. Each had the answer that was just one PayPal click away.
