It’s my birthday. As a year-end baby, I was never one to make a huge fuss but I do enjoy the well wishes. My kids love to see who could be the first to text birthday wishes.
The girls won out, beating the boys by an hour. To be fair, it takes the boys that long to wake up in the first place.
I was finally able to make it to Starbucks this year to claim my birthday coffee and had enough points to get a muffin too. Bonus!
It’s the little things that fill my gratitude cup.
I lived to celebrate another year considering that 2022 felt weird and one for the history books. So many famous people passed away from Britain’s Queen Elizabeth, journalist Barbara Walters to Brazil soccer star Pelé.
On the local front, a community mourned the loss of a young man who was killed in a four-wheeler accident. Other of my friends lost parents and family members.
A massive winter storm stranded families leaving some areas without power. Christmas celebrations and travel plans were delayed as people did their best to shelter from the icy winds. Lives were lost across North America as stranded travelers and homeowners succumbed to the bitter cold.
