The One Thing I Would Want On A Desert Island

It is big and sharp and a girl’s best friend

It can take extreme circumstances to fine-tune what is important. I am such a city gal that I am not sure I would do well if stranded on a desert island.

However, in such circumstances, I would want a really big, sharp knife as my companion. What can I say? I am practical in that way.

As a natural loner, the solitude would be heavenly as long as I kept busy. Being the sole hunter, gatherer, and provider, I would be kept busy.

From a practical standpoint, I can use a knife for protection from predators, build a shelter and hunt for food. Survival is the name of the game. Even with my extremely limited survival skill set, I can still do what I can to stay alive.

As humans, we can get too comfortable in our daily routines.

  • The WiFi goes down for 5 minutes, and our brains go into shock.
  • One road construction project can cause an hour delay in our extremely busy lives.
  • The horror of having to wait soooo long (3 minutes) in line behind granny, who seems to be taking 10 minutes to decide what to order from Starbucks.
