I love to read.

However, it takes a lot for a book to keep my interest. As a child, I loved fairy tales, especially those written by the late English author Enid Blyton. I considered her books as a second mother to my young mind. Not only were her stories masterfully written, they always had a wisdom component that I eagerly ingested.

Many virtues that define my soul today I learned from her books.

  • I cultivated independence with The Famous Five.
  • I tested my mystery-solving skills with The Secret Seven.
  • I was spiritually enlightened when I travelled to The Land of Far Beyond.
  • I sought mushroom rings in the garden so I could visit Fairyland.

As the youngest child, growing up as an introvert, mystery books were my companion. From Nancy Drew, Hardy Boys, Trixie Belden, and The Three Investigators, I could not wait for my teen years so I could be as smart, pretty, and courageous as the characters I loved so much.
