I Am Not One to Travel
But I still have a bucket list
I am not a traveller but I love to listen to travel stories.
Fortunately, I work a retail job where I get to interact with people who are often getting ready to travel as well as visitors from other countries. During quieter times, I often get the opportunity to satiate my curiosity and hear all the interesting adventures they are about to embark upon.
While I have not wanted to travel extensively, there is one place I would love to actually visit that is on my bucket list, Greece.
As a child, I was often fascinated by Greek mythology. I could not get enough of the adventures or misadventures on the gods. To stand on the land that fuelled so much historical, mythological, and theological thinking would be a dream come true.
I want to walk among the hillsides of homes that appear precariously balanced on each other, linked by an intricate labyrinth of stairs. To inhale the warm air blowing in from the deep, vibrant blue water of the Mediterranean that provides a rich contrast to the stark white walls gleaming in the sun like freshly washed bleached laundry.
