Getting traction towards the life you want

All the best knowledge in the world is useless unless it sparks a call to action. You can sleep, journal, introspect, self-care and adopt a myriad of other good habits but ultimately they need to get you moving in a direction that you would enjoy getting to.

I am an avid reader self help reader. I love learning from Dr Phil and Oprah.
I get inspired by YouTube videos, Skillshare classes and TED Talks.
As a result, I have found many people in all my different areas of interests that I am “learning” from.

Yet all this knowledge is useless trivia in my brain if I don’t actually START DOING any thing that I learned. That, as I have come to understand, is the biggest difference between having the dream and living the dream.

I have been overwhelmed by the constant call “To Follow Your Dreams” or “Find Your Purpose or Passion”, “Be Your Best Self” and you will be happy for the rest of your life. While it is good advise, I still had problems latching on to what does that really mean and look like in my life.

So often, it is recommended to think back to your past and your dreams as a child. I have come to realize that while that is good advice for first-world countries because of the vast size and unlimited possibilities, coming from a small island, this thought was never really an option.
