How Staying Alert in Your Life Keeps You From Being Bored
All it took was a ferret and turtles
There is something to be said for the times you get to spend outdoors and just soak in a beautiful day.
The cerulean, picture-perfect sky, dotted with tiny puffs of cotton clouds gives off the illusion of an organic freshness. A time where the serenity of your surroundings is a balm to your very soul and just for a brief moment, life stands still, problems regress, all is well.
Enjoying moments like these can, unfortunately, get repetitive and taken for granted if you don’t usually travel a lot. It all begins to look the same, the same path, the same scene, the same tree. Regardless of the beauty cocooned around you, those strings of first love eventually turn into “ye ole ball and chain.”
- You walk without looking.
- You see without observing.
- You glance without engaging.
- You hear without listening.
Autopilot has switched on. You have switched off. A couple of trips to one of my favourite places reminded me how important it is to flip that switch back on.
