Finding the courage to let go

Are these limiting beliefs holding you back?

The line between what shit I need to own and what belongs to another can get blurry sometimes. Unless you live in a vacuum, people are intertwined and actions affect not just the owner but the others who just happened to be caught in the wake. Lines of separation get very small and almost indistinguishable at times. Letting go is the solution but recognizing the “what” becomes the question. The more I looked into the question, the more I realized how subtle and deep those roots were growing.

“The world does not revolve around you” was the phrase that I often told my daughter as she grew up, yet as far as young children knew, the world did revolve around them. They had an uncanny way of believing that they were the ones responsible for the problems around them. The blamed themselves for mom and dad fighting, getting a divorce, having a bad day etc.

As they get older, they worry about their image in the world. My daughter had no problem being the centre of attention when she was younger. She was never the shy one when taking part in school and church events. As she grew, she became so much more aware of peer judgement and my once little live wire became less outgoing and more politically correct. She still loved to have fun but never to the tune of risking potential…
