Fear Is Real
but you don’t have to fall victim to it

As a people pleaser, I am often intimidated by… well, people. Confrontation, with said people, to be more exact. I live for harmony and want us all to just get along. As a result, I prefer to live independently. An invitation to my personal sphere is harder to get than breaking into Fort Knox. My need to place the happiness of others first often means that I keep my own needs private and safely tucked away.
As a result, I tend to be fiercely independent. I have learned to ask for help every now and then, but even in those situations, I still find myself withdrawn.
Try as I might, my fears have imprisoned me for so long that I am not sure I would recognize freedom anymore. At the heart of a people pleaser lies the biggest fear of all. “Who do you think you are, and why do you think you deserve better?”
Being willing to believe in myself and know that I am worthy of having my dreams come true is a conundrum that often rages relentlessly within.
